ABOUT BURKE LAW
Burke Law offers business and estate planning legal services to protect clients’ portfolios and ensure hard work is preserved for future generations. From the protection of business and personal assets, to mitigation of future conflict, Burke Law services are designed to save money. Burke Law was established to serve businesses, individuals, and families with a holistic approach to the practice of law. After 4 years of civil litigation with the State of Florida, Caitlin decided to open a firm that protects clients’ interests and minimize the risk of litigation.
Caitlin is an experienced trial attorney; handling more than 50 trials while employed by the Department of Children and Families. Caitlin is prepared to defend and pursue claims in court when necessary. Valuing the courts' and clients' time, Burke Law provides quality legal services and counsel to protect clients' interests and avoid future costs.
Caitlin graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida. She majored in Recreation, Sport, and Tourism, with a specialty in Hospitality Management. Her honors thesis analyzed crime on cruise ships and the application of maritime law, and was recognized by The University of Florida's College of Health and Human Performance Magazine.
Caitlin obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami, graduating Cum Laude on the University of Miami Law Review, and with a CALI Book Award for Civil Procedure. She was published in Volume 67; her article analyzed the validity of arbitration clauses in union-negotiated collective bargaining agreements. Award of her analysis on Supreme Court decision Bruesewitz v. Wyeth, a federal case that preempts state design defect claims against manufacturers. During law school, Caitlin worked for maritime personal injury law firm, Walker & O’Neill, P.A. which represented passengers and cruise members injured on cruise ships. She interned at the City of Miami Beach and assisted with research, writing, and city law. During her final year of law school, Caitlin worked at Sibley Law providing research, writing, and case analysis in the areas of business law and personal injury.
In her free time at UM, Caitlin volunteered at HOPE Farm in Miami helping persons with disabilities gain valuable life skills through horsemanship. She also provided legal aid services to the indigent and homeless. Caitlin continues to serve under-represented populations since law school and her departure from the Department of Children and Families. She founded Youth Equity Project, Inc. to provide resources and lifestyle changes to youth in custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice. Caitlin is currently employed part time with the Guardian ad Litem Program, handling cases in Alachua, Gilchrist, and Levy Counties. The Guardian ad Litem Program represents the best interests of the children involved in Judicial Dependency.
In June 2020, Burke Law became of counsel to Howard M. Rosenblatt, PA. Howard has been practicing estate planning, elder law, probate, and guardianship for over 40 years. Burke Law is located in Gainesville, Florida. Virtual meetings available.
